Salix x acutifolia

Beautiful red/purple shoots that turn dark with a whitish bloom.
Older wood turn almost black 2nd or 3rd  year and later into a grayish colour. Interesting for living willow work or a shrub for the garden.
Not the best basketry willow, but it is so beautiful in a basket. Can be used by an experienced weaver and for certain accents.
Grown for basketry and coppiced annually it is not a big producer growing in the willow field here at my farm.
