Salix var 'Dave's Green'

Salix var 'Dave's Green' is grown in our willow beds at Lakeshore Willows for large living willow projects, furniture, woven fences and bark for weaving.

  • One year growth up to more than 10'  with beautiful straight rods.
  • Bark is light green when fresh and dries to an almost black.
  • Suitable for large living projects and wind breaks.
  • Semi fresh rods are great for large woven fences and bentwood chairs - preferably using 2-3 year old rods.

Growth Habit

Fast growing, very large willow

This variety works well for large living willow projects, willow furniture making and woven fences.

Bark can be harvested for weaving on 1 year+ rods

2-3 year rods can be used for rings and frames for large baskets

IMPORTANT NOTE FROM LENE: I am not a horticulturist and the information provided for each willow variety is based on my observations growing and using the willows here at Lakeshore Willows. The information about growth habit is quoted from Christopher Newsholme's book: Willows, The Genus Salix.
