In this two day workshop for advanced level weavers, you will learn the Burkina weave technique using very fine willow weavers.
Different forms of spiral weave are used in many regions around the globe and I was taught this technique by Danish Eva Seidenfaden who learned it in Burkina Faso and introduced it to willow.
During the first day of the workshop you will learn the technique and typically make a couple of small containers suitable for keeping your garlic, dried hot peppers, etc.
You will learn the basic spiral technique and there will be a choice of a couple of different starts/bases for a hanging or standing container.
During the second day of the workshop you will make a small purse with an attached leather strap.
